Lauren + Remy
Love under the vines – Armidale wedding photographer captures an elegant celebration uniting best friends
This travelling two-some have Facebook and MSN to thank for igniting the spark of their love – although at 15 years old, they didn’t quite know it then! After chatting to each other online as teens, they finally officially met at the Annandale Hotel in 2012. As they’d already gotten to know one another fairly well, they decided to begin dating … that very night!
Six years and thousands of kilometres of travel between Australia and Canada later, this gorgeous pair finally made the decision to get hitched because as Lauren says:
“We’d spent over two years living together, two years of travelling with each other and after all that we hadn’t killed each other, still loved each other and remained best friends. So Remy asked and I said yes!”
For Remy, it was both Lauren’s personality and inner kindness that attracted him to her – and kept him by her side, day after day:
“What drew me to Lauren was her smile and eyes. She’s very bubbly and loving and has such empathy for everyone.”
Lauren and Remy chose to get married on 14th April 2018 at Petersons Winery in Armidale to take advantage of the beautiful autumn colours and fresh, cool air. It was a great decision as it meant we caught some amazing moments amongst the autumn leaves and the shifting afternoon light as it turned to dusk.
While it’s always hard to choose, two of our favourite shots had to be Lauren’s dad when he got his first look at his little girl in her wedding gown, and the kiss of love Remy planted on Lauren’s forehead just as the setting sun cast waves of golden light over them.
The reception was also held on the grounds of Peterson’s Winery in Armidale as both Remy and Lauren’s family still live close by. They were drawn to the privacy and seclusion the winery offered, helping them to create an intimate, elegant and relaxed wedding.
Lauren and Remy’s wedding day was truly magical and we loved witnessing the commitment made between these two best friends. As Lauren quite rightly says:
“Marriage means having your best friend there every day to share everything with and support you through the great times and the really hard times. It means making a commitment to trust each other and push each other and live each day as it comes.”
And we couldn’t agree more Lauren!
